GCSE Drama students in year 10 have recently visited St Martin’s and St Peter’s primary schools to perform a number of Christmas plays as part of their Theatre-in-Education unit.

The performances, entitled ‘Happy the Christmas Elf’, ‘The Christmas that almost never happened’ and ‘The Knight Before Christmas’ were devised by the students themselves and included all included a moral or Christmas message.

Students in years 7, 8 and 9 have also been busy creating their own Christmas plays and have enjoyed taking the opportunity to dress up!

The English department took 114 year 7’s to see ‘Dick Whittington and his Amazing Cat’ on Thursday 10th December at the Scarborough Spa. They all thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was cheering when Whittington appeared and there was ‘booing’ and ‘hissing’ when King Rat showed his face on stage; I think we might have been the loudest school there.

Everyone was well behaved and did the school proud.
