The St. Augustine’s Easter Concert took place in front of a full house at Westborough Methodist Church. It featured all the school ensembles, Orchestra, Junior Jazz Orchestra, SAJO, Junior Choir, Male Voice Choir and Senior Choir. Also taking part this time was the St. Peter’s Primary School Orchestra who played ‘Stand by Me’ and the Stephan Joseph Funky Choir who joined the Jazz Orchestras in performing a rousing rendition of ‘Proud Mary’ featuring year 8 student Asha Adey on lead vocals.

Over a third of the school tool part in one of the ensembles with also many ex-pupils coming back to play and sing which made it a really special evening of outstanding performances. The choirs sang songs ranging from ‘Photograph’ by Ed Sheeran, ‘Siyahamba’, ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ by Adele to ‘Ode to Joy’ by Beethoven.

Mr Barron said “Many of the parents attending said it was the best concert to date with the pupils showing real enthusiasm and high quality musicianship beyond their years. I am really proud to be part of this amazing music family”
