Our Holocaust Memorial Gift Tree explained…
Assemblies were held each day on the run up to Holocaust Memorial Day on Friday 27th January.
Prayers for peace were said on Friday lunchtime.
Throughout the week, everyone in our school community was invited to offer one gift that they would like to give to a person who has suffered persecution. Our gifts are not material, a blanket or food for example, but gifts of personal healing that will help people to move on with their lives and have a future. This Gift Tree is our whole school prayer for those who suffer and an act of remembrance for all those who have died at the hands of cruel oppressors. It is so important that we remember, learn from the past and try to change the world for the better.
God, Our Father, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
