Food and Geography joined forces today to explore some Kenyan inspired food.

The Year 7 pupils’ have been learning about Kenya in their geography lessons so they put their culinary skills to use and helped to prepare some classic Kenyan dishes. All the pupils made unleavened flat breads to accompany their food.


The dishes prepared were;
Matoki – a traditional Kenyan stew and with beef and plantain, flavoured with chilli and spices.
Irio – a mashed potato dish with sweetcorn and peas
Pilau – a rice dish flavoured with lots of spices and garlic
Flat bread
Biskuti ya nazi – a coconut macaroon desert
