During Lent 2016 we have been working on ways to help to support Catholic Agency for Overseas Development Make a Splash Campaign for clean water around the world. Following assemblies to learn more about the devastation caused by lack of clean water, our Years 9, 10 and 11 pupils have taken part in Soup lunches and raised £165.

Our years 7 and 8 pupils have planned a sponsored walk route around the school campus and gathered sponsors. Staff were on duty to walk with their pupils and pupils acted as marshals to ensure that each lap of the route was recorded.

One of the year 7 pupils, Adam Scott, who helped to plan the walk said “Our walk is very important. We’re raising money for people who don’t have clean water”. “The girls and women who gather water have to walk a long way to get it. Our walk is to remember that and to help them have a better life.”

We have had to postpone our walk a couple of times due to the weather, but as the pictures show, we had a great afternoon and everyone really got in to the spirit of things! We hope to be able to send a good sum of money to CAFOD in support of their vital and lifesaving work.
