It has been a very busy start to the year for the pupils of the Music Department, starting with a great performance by SAJO at the Open Evening in September. This was followed by Chamber Choir’s first performance of the year at Tesco with all the new Year 7 singers stepping up and doing a great job. Many of the staff and customers of Tesco were brought to tears of joy with their performances.

picture8The Junior Choir had a great  afternoon of workshops with the Pearl of Africa Choir from Uganda which was followed by an evening’s performance at Queen Street Methodist Church. The choir were so inspirational to our young singers bringing culture, vibrancy and happiness to our school!

There were also many solo instrumentalists, dancers and even a boy band and a girl band. Mr Barron said: “what a great way to start the year with so many talented musicians. I am so proud of them all and to be able to sing to a full house with a crowd of over 450 was fantastic!”

The Music Department are currently fundraising for their trip to Croatia next year.
