The Drama department has recently received a donation of £250 towards the cost of costumes for the forthcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
The donation was made by ‘Making a Difference Locally’ which is a charity that has been established to support local communities. The communities supported are those which are served by local independently-owned convenience stores that are members of Nisa, in this case, Proudfoots.
The charity helps Nisa stores raise money that can then be donated to local charities and good causes. This is done through the sale of certain products in store, including all of Nisa’s own-label Heritage range. Every time an item included in the scheme is purchased, a proportion of the price is added to the store’s MADL fund and this is then donated to good causes in that store’s local area.
Mrs Edwards the Drama Teacher said we are incredibly grateful for the donation from Proudfoots. There are over 80 students in the production and everyone needs at least two costumes each”.
The production of Joseph is taking place at Scarborough College from 12th – 14th July at 7.00pm. Tickets are available in school priced £6 for adults and £5 for children.
Valerie Aston from Proudfoots, who visited the school to present the cheque for £250 said: “This should be and excellent production based on the enthusiasm I saw from the pupils today”
