This summer term has been filled with athletics and rounders fixtures to keep our students busy. Sadly due to the wonderful British weather only 2 of the district rounders tournaments were fulfilled.

The Year 8 team came 5th in the district out of 11 schools with all the pupils having some brilliant fielding skills to stop the other teams gaining a high score. Annabel Jennings scored the team many rounders with her powerful hits and Alice Collins kept the bowling speedy to put off the batting team.

The Year 7 team made it through to the semi-final in their district tournament with Anna Bowman and Iris Young keeping the team going with their excellent knowledge on rules and tactics.

Athletics has been a key event this term with St Augustines performing extremely well at Town Sports, resulting in us taking 48 pupils to represent the Scarborough Partnership Athletics team in the district schools athletics championships at York University. During this event Anna Bowman gained a 1st in Javelin, Iris Young got 1st in discus and Brandon Clayton getting 1st place in High Jump. Brandon also managed to break the school record this year by jumping 1m65.

A big congratulations to Ben Chamberlain who was selected for the minor league District Cricket team and we wish him the best of luck representing the district.

Sports day was a brilliant success, with the majority of the school taking part and showing great competitiveness and sportsmanship. We would like to thank all the pupils for their commitment and achievements in schools sport and we look forward to next year and the sporting successes it will bring.
