Year 7 students have been designing and making their own masks as part of a Drama project on Mime and Masks.

The masks, which were completed as homework, are very creative and have been produced from all sorts of materials including mod-roc, cardboard and even recycled plastic carrier bags.

Drama teacher Miss Price said “the year 7’s have done very well and there are some really unusual masks. The next part of the challenge is for the students to use their masks in a performance.”

Year 7 student Rijana Generoso created an exceptional mask, based on the theme of Spring and using ideas inspired by masks from the Philippines. Mr Taylor is currently looking for a way to keep Rijana’s masks permanently on display in school for everyone to see.
