This term we have set up a Youth SVP group which has over 30 members.

The pupils are in years 9-11 and have made regular visits to both Briardene and Priceholme Residential Homes.  Their aim is to serve the community in whatever way they can.  We also have a Junior SVP group for years 7-8.  They manage the fundraising activities for the school and have raised money to provide transport for the older pupils to go out and visit.

At the end of term both groups worked together and created a beautiful tea party for a group of 40 visitors to the school from all of the Scarborough parishes.  The pupils sang, served tea and cake and sat and chatted with the guests.

Liam Watkinson and Emily Kynaston were champion tea servers and Chloe Wilson, Faith Jordan and Sean Mould were champion chatters.  Afterwards the visitors said that they’d had a lovely time and were very impressed with the young people of St Augustine’s.
