The year 11s had their last football fixture yesterday but sadly due to other commitments they weren’t able to field a team. Rather than miss a fixture the lovely year 10s decided to take on the challenge of competing against the older year group. They all did fantastically well, despite not playing much football Alicia Walls did a brilliant job in defence and then even got some confidence to have a try in goal. Alexis Zulueta made some excellent saves in goal against Filey who kept the pressure up with having a lot of shots on goal. Tilly Dixon demonstrating some strong defensive skills, winning the ball off many of the Pindar players. Lucy Webster and Bailey Orrells played outstanding up front, having numerous shots on goals from varying positions.

The girls beat both Filey and Pindar but drew against Scalby which meant that at the end of the tournament they were joint first with Scalby. Sadly, it went down to goal difference which meant that Scalby managed to just get in front of us and claim first place. I really appreciate the girls stepping up to represent St Augustine’s and not being overwhelmed playing against the year above.
